EUROPEAN PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER - LONDON, CANARY WHARF

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

State Street is seeking a team-oriented, public relations professional to join its fast-paced, global PR team.

The PR manager will play an instrumental role in managing the perception of State Street's business, products and services through proactive and reactive media relations with European based financial, business and trade media.

This position is part of a high-performing global PR team supporting all divisions of the company across 15 geographic markets. The role, based in our London office, will cover all key European markets and will report jointly to the global head of PR and the European regional director of Global Marketing.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead the planning and drive implementation of State Street's PR strategy in Europe in conjunction with headquartered PR team, local PR agencies and regional management including PR plans, press materials and media relations while ensuring consistency with global standards
- Establish strong relationships with key relevant media
- Manage incoming media inquiries, prepare spokespeople, and staff interviews
- Prepare press releases, media briefings, messaging documents, coverage reports, communications plans, and other materials
- Work in conjunction with European PR agencies to ensure ongoing monitoring of editorial calendars and proactive pitching of story ideas, news developments, and expert sources to media
- Cultivate relationships with internal stakeholders including business group leaders, spokespeople and other Global Marketing team colleagues

OUR REQUIREMENTS

Qualified candidates will have prior media relations experience preferably in financial services. In addition:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in public relations, communications and/or relevant work experience in a corporate setting
- Proven public relations experience, including financial services
- Ability to manage multiple projects and clients with changing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic, deadline-driven, high stakes environment
- Articulate, diplomatic, and service-oriented with experience interfacing with senior management
- Experience in developing and executing PR plans together with colleagues in multiple regions
- Self-motivated, strategic thinker and problem-solver
- Results driven with strong sense of urgency
- Strong writing skills
- Ability to succeed in a global, team environment
