Department description:
The department is responsible for developing both Real Time and Historical Equity Web Applications to present Pre and Post Trade data and Analytic Tools.

Description of position:
The Software Engineer will be responsible for working as a part of software development team on Tradeweb Equities Master Product and any related work on other products. The primary focus will be the analysis, design, implementation and performance tuning in Database layer. Also involves working with business during the definition phase for clarifying/understanding/brainstorming application workflow and requirements

Responsibilities/accountabilities:
  • Application Development: This being the primary activity would require working on TEM and any other related products through the product life cycle. (60%)
  • Debugging and bug fixing: Work with the QA bug fixing release cycle (20%)
  • Documentation: Working as team to complete the Functional and Technical requirements for the release (5%)
  • Performance tuning: Work on increasing data retrieval response times. (5%)
  • Production On Call Support: As a part of team rotation, perform 2nd level (24*7) production support (5%)
  • Release Mgmt: As a team member would be supporting product releases on Saturday once or twice every quarter. (5%)

Skills

Skills:

Required:
  • 5+ years development experience in Oracle Technologies
  • Hands-on knowledge of development in the Oracle 10g/11g and Sybase 12.x database environments - Oracle SQL and PL/SQL coding through more advances topics like PL/SQL collections and bulk data operations.
  • The ability to write and maintain bash shell scripts
  • A knack for multi-tasking and ability to work with minimal direction
Pluses:
  • Familiarity with database application tuning including ability to interpret Explain Plans and to evaluate the efficacy of various modifications: indexing, partitioning, parallel processing, pipelining, etc.Core Competencies:
