Responsibilities
The Higher Education and Not-for-Profit Rating Team of the Public Finance Group at Moody's Investors Service is seeking a qualified candidate to fill an associate analyst or analyst position in the New York office. Depending on qualifications location in one of Moody's other offices (Dallas, San Francisco, Chicago or Boston) would be considered. - Managing and analyzing financial and market data of colleges, universities, private K-12 schools, museums, foundations and other not-for-profit organizations - Review of bond documentation, formulation of rating recommendation and presentation to credit committee - After a period of training, overseeing a rating portfolio of universities and not-for-profits which would entail leading meetings with senior-most administration of these institutions, presenting findings to Moody's senior staff members and writing detailed analytic reports. - Preparing other industry focused research publications and presentations - Attending and networking at industry conferences
Qualifications
Should have a demonstrated interest in public finance and/or not-for-profit organizations. Excellent writing and communication skills are necessary. Masters Degree required, with preference for focus in Public Administration/Public Finance, Public Policy, or Business Administration. Preference also given for previous credit analysis background or familiarity with financial statement analysis.
