Product Control Group (PCG) is accountable and responsible for the independent production and certification of the accounting quality Profit & Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheet, on a daily basis.

Insuring reliability and audit ability of the Reference P&L calculation.  Providing analysis & explanation of the P&L, using Income Attribution process, in interaction with RISQ.  Driving the transformation from current state to the production of a Daily Reference "Accounting quality" P&L.

The Reconciliation and Accounting Feedings (RAF) department within the PCG group is responsible for the control of accounting feeding and the reconciliation of the accounting data to front office data.

The Reconciliation and Control (RCG) team within the RAF department is responsible for the control of the daily and monthly accounting feeding to the GL from back office systems, research and treatment of any error in the feed process on time. RCG is the owner of the product related Balance Sheet and P&L accounts and is responsible to certify and support the balances in these accounts. RCG is responsible to provide internal and external auditors with adequate support and explanation of the balances, complete monthly BCT certification and quarterly ARCS reconciliation.

The RCG teams is also responsible for the treatment of RDJ technical rejects, monthly control of internal accounts balance & monthly control of BAFI anomalies, Basel II accounting consistency, inter-company reconciliations, monitoring and analytical review & GEDS business additional controls. The control of large CRI, control of manual accounting entries, control of inter-company deals & control of internal deals, control of sensitive accounts, control of data quality Basle II, control of management intentions & other transversal control(s)and task(s).

RESPONSIBILITIES

RCG:

  • Monthly accounting entries to our broker dealer entity for accruals, regulatory re-class, and balance sheet reporting
  • Daily and monthly reconciliations between transactional database and accounting sources
  • Daily cash reconciliation between GL and banks/brokers
  • Analyze and prioritize discrepancies.
  • Correct discrepancies by booking manual entries as needed
  • Monthly GL reconciliations to the source data. Balance sheet variance analysis.
  • Perform dividend Accrual Testing
  •  Perform price testing of listed positions

Other Operational Controls:

  • Perform monthly consistency checks -based on guidelines and thresholds defined by the team.
  • Perform monthly checks on manual accounting entries based on guidelines and thresholds defined by the team.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations on inter-company deals based on guidelines and thresholds defined by the team.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations on internal deals based on guidelines and thresholds defined by the team:

      -Analyze gaps and initiate corrective actions.

      -Ensure that corrective actions have been undertaken.

      -Formalize analysis and conclusions (inc. corrective actions).

  • Perform monthly controls on accounts with manual feeding including general accounts (payable and receivable) and accounts dedicated to some specific products accounting.

     -Maintain the audit trail: reconciliation with middle office / back office files.

     -Analyze potential issues and ensure that corrective actions are undertaken.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Required / Must have:

  • Excellent accounting and audit skills ? including working knowledge of US GAAP ? Solid Excel skills ? ability to write/work w/ simple macros. (VBA Macros)

Desired / Plus:

  • Excellent understanding of Equity Derivative business, various other products and the end-to-end transaction lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft, Beta and Bloomberg systems.

PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE

Required / Must have:

  • 2-3years financial industry experience with the following:
  • Experience working with front to back accounting processes.
  • Experience in month end accounting close process ? entry booking and control of balances ? Knowledge of product settlement, documentation, collateral & managing processes.
  • Understanding the business lifecycle, including the systems process flow.
  • Previous experience in dealing w/ market activities (ideally with a focus on Equity Derivatives & primary markets procedures).
  • Experience with reconciliation of derivative activity.

  • Public Accounting
  • audit experience

EDUCATION

Required / Must have:

  • BS in accounting or finance
